The handshake

Eight years ago, two bright young sparks from the agency SEO world sat down in a dimly lit bar. Change was in the air. Between them both, Andy and Kieran had spent several decades in SEO agencies looking after small businesses. They firmly agreed on one thing; the SEO model was broken for small businesses. It needed changing. It needed something completely new.

2017

The light bulb

Fast forward a year and they spot the issue. Small businesses were caught in the middle of SEO software that was too complicated (we all know who, right?), and agencies which were too expensive. A penny dropped, a light bulb came on and the result was Hike. A software for people who need traffic and can’t afford agencies.

2018

The growth

20,000 users, there was still a concern they weren’t helping enough micro-businesses. It wasn’t that these businesses didn’t want to use Hike; they didn’t want to use anything at all. What they really wanted was a done-for-you solution so they could focus on running their business.

The new kid on the block
